The impossible to follow entry.

So I recently got my eyes laser corrected. It’s pretty BA. I keep thinking I need to take out my contacts, but I don’t, and then I think “Sweet!” I can just go to sleep. Then I think, maybe I should brush my teeth. Then I think, well my Uncle has no cavities and he only brushes his teeth in the morning. Then I think about what my mouth tastes like in the morning if I don’t brush my teeth, and then I brush my teeth. What the hell was I talking about?
Anyway, the Del Mar Fair was pretty cool. Anthony and I partied a little too hard, but it was fun.
I also spent a little time rereading some stuff I wrote earlier in the year. It was pretty cynical, albeit funny, but right now life is good. You know that’ll pass, but it’s good to make note of it when it is, so next time I am sitting here in a cynical mood rereading what I wrote, I’ll remember oh yeah, there was that one time that life was good and most likely I’ll be thinking at that time, I know that’ll never happen again… And then next time that I am happy again rereading earlier posts, I’ll think oh yeah, I was wrong then.
So I had this professor that had a teaching method he called the “Impossible to take notes method” It was when he would be doing calculations on the board instead of from his notes, he would either make a mistake and have to go back, or he would, mid-solve, realize there was a better way, and then he’d erase everything and start again. Hence impossible to take notes. I thought that was hysterical, but I was the only one. Anyway, I am pretty sure this entry will be known as the impossible to follow entry. Good Luck.

So I have done a little bit of research into Search Engine Optimizing, and I am surprised by how easy it is to get a relatively decent position on Google search results for things that are rarely searched for.

So I have done a little bit of research into Search Engine Optimizing, and I am surprised by how easy it is to get a relatively decent position on Google search results for things that are rarely searched for. So what’s the point of that? The point is you have to start somewhere, and if you can carve out positions in smaller niches as you become more popular, and advance your skills, eventually you can become the Grandmaster of Blogging. What makes me an authority at all? Nothing really except some experimenting on my part. Right now, my powerful glasses are the number one result on Google, and I’m number 4 for Sony Standby Blinking Codes, and other random stuff like that. The point is it doesn’t take that much creativity to get a decent position on Google.

How to choose a blog title for higher Google search result position

Many times I decide on the title after I’ve written the blog. I choose the title based on what I would use in a Google search for the topic I am writing about. So for this blog I am using Blog Titles for Higher Google Position. It may not be a really common search, but how many other titles out there are like it. So the key I find is to think of a title that can double as an exact Google search.

Writing for higher Google search result position

Next of course is writing content that reinforces your title, and sets you apart from the rest. Google isn’t stupid, as if that needs to be said, so if you try to just dominate an article with keywords, you are likely to get screwed on Google and be buried so deep into the search results you won’t find anything. I find the best way to get the correct amount of keywords is to just use a few less pronouns. I write a blog about the topic I’ve chosen, in this case good blog titles for better positioning on Google search results, and then instead of just saying things like, “better position,” or “title,” I use the entire blog title. What I’ve found is that the writing still flows and doesn’t become awkward, and I’ve been fairly successful at achieving descent positions for the topics I write about. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blowing out the power houses like New York Times, or Amazon.com, or any web site with that kind of clout, but I may be right after them.

Some topics are better for achieving higher Google search result positions

The more specific a topic you choose to blog about the better your chances of achieving higher Google search results. Being the first to review a new book for instance is more likely to put you higher in the results then trying to review the newest Apple release. Technology blogs dominate the blogosphere, and even though you might be into that, it’s going to take quite a bit longer to move your way up in the search results in that competitive of a market.

That definitely doesn’t mean just blog about stuff that you can be competitive in, or achieve higher Google search result positions. I don’t believe anyone should be blogging solely to manipulate Google search engine results. Blog about what you love. I am merely trying to help you gain a little more readership, assuming you are a beginner blogger, a white belt blogger if you will. I consider myself only a white belt with a yellow stripe blogger. I’m definitely not an Ask-A-Ninja blogger. Nor am I claiming this as an original idea. And I also use All in one SEO.

Happy blogging!

Rodeo Drive, Los Angeles California– It’s a weird little strip. Mostly high-end designers, but no prices on anything. It’s like compeletely set up for the wealthy, and no one really says much to you when you walk in the stores. I’m not sure if it’s because they assume you can’t afford anything in there, or if they just don’t care. Of course the people that work in the stores are just everyday people with really expensive clothing. I would imagine they make some kind of commission, and have met movie stars.

The cars that pass down the strip are unbelievable. It’s like a luxury car show. The most expensive and amazing cars file by unassumingly. Bentleys, Mercedes, Ferraris– I think the cheapest car I saw was a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid.

Very secluded gates. Have you ever gone Sunday driving through a neighborhood to look at the amazing houses? It’s hard to do that in Beverly Hills. All the houses are covered by bushes, privacy fences, and gates. The few glimpses of the homes I did see were at least as impressive as the cars I saw on Rodeo Drive.

Think and Grow Rich, The Secret– Beverly Hills is Disneyland for adults, where money grows on trees, everyone eats cake, and no one gets fat. Beverly Hills is you, 10 years from now. I know some of you don’t care about being rich, but it’s not about being rich. It’s about having the opportunity to experience everything life has to offer, and money is no object. They don’t even put prices on the freakin’ clothes! Good Luck!

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh again today. Not as smart of a guy as I originally thought. I guess the more you learn, not only the less you realize you know, but the less you realize others know. A few days ago I was listening to him go off about Rahm Emanuel saying, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before. This is an opportunity. What used to be long-term problems — be they in the health care area, energy area, education area, fiscal area, tax area, regulatory reform area — things that we had postponed for too long that were long-term are now immediate and must be dealt with. And this crisis provides the opportunity for us, as I would say, the opportunity to do things that you could not do before.”

Rush makes it seem like this was a unique idea that the democrats came up with to secretly tell you they are going to use this crisis to develop their own personal agenda of promoting the democratic party. Rush is really getting desperate for material. A pretty smart guy said something fairly similar, albeit more general.

And according to Perez Hilton, which I know shouldn’t be a source for anything, there was over 67,000 black people living in Alaska in 2000. Mostly this is my desparate cry to make sure you talk to your kids about the presidential election. Please don’t let people like Diddy give your children guidance. You may or may not agree with the choice he is making for president, but at least give your kids some kind of clue as to the issues. Who’s running and what their political background is.
Nothing is quite as frustrating as dealing with asshole drivers and then shortly thereafter dealing with asshole parkers. I assume that the people who drive as if they are the only person for whom the road was intended also park as if they are the only car in the lot. I hate when people park and crowd one side of the spot, or are over the white lines outlining the intended parking spot. It couldn’t be more irritating, especially in a packed parking lot. Even if someone says screw it, I will just continue to park like that, eventually there is a spot that can no longer be used because of the lack of consideration by the original asshole parker.
Speaking of asshole parkers. A week or so ago I saw this hot woman get out of a Mercedes parked in a handicap spot. Not that you couldn’t be hot and handicap, but more that she wasn’t handicap. Just because someone that usually rides in the vehicle or owns the vehicle is handicap, doesn’t give you permission to park in a handicap spot merely because you have the handicap permit, or license plate. The person it was issued to has a handicap, why the !@#$ would you park there? It makes me hope that the karma train runs over them, maiming them in some handicapping way. It’s also the implication by people that do that, that they are better than everyone else. It’s like saying that you don’t care about anyone but yourself and your conenience.

I just flew into, “VA is for lovers,” yesterday, and I realized how the airport has inspired a lot of my writings from long ago. I just love how real it is. I feel like airports are links between people on the planet. Imagine if you will, looking at the earth from space, and little bright dots to represent each person on the planet, and everywhere someone moves it leaves a trail, tracking each person through time. Airports would be glowing bright spots. I think that most of the people on the planet move through an airport at some time.
I just love watching the people move throughout the airport. People arriving, people leaving, goodbyes, hellos, welcome homes, till next time, business, vacation, families, individuals. I love it. There’s a lot of emotion surrounding the airport. Anxiety, excitement, sadness, happiness. It’s so raw, and so real, and such an awesome example of common individuality.

I find that one of the most effective ways to get things done is with sarcasm. I picked it up from Will Ferrel’s “Dissing your dog.” There is a variety of ways to be effective when requesting things to be accomplished, as there are a variety of ways to effectively learn.

Various learning method versus their effectiveness looks like this:
1. Listening – Least Effective
2. Reading – Less Effective
3. Reading and Writing – Effective
4. Reading, writing, repetition – More Effective
5. Teach to others – Most Effective

I have found the following is the order of effectiveness with regard to getting things done:
1. Ask Nicely – Least effective
2. Threaten – Less Effective
3. Yell – Effective
4. Yell and kick and scream like a maniac or 3 year old – More Effective.
5. Tell someone why you want them to do it and try to empathize with the situation – Even More Effective.
6. Don’t tell them you want them to do something, just imply it through the use of heavy sarcasm – Most Effective.

The key to good sarcasm is to not actually get upset. If you are pissed off and trying to be sarcastic you run the risk of people realizing you’re a whack job. But if you can stay calm and use sarcasm, people aren’t sure if you are joking around or not, so out of fear or uneasiness they most likely do what’s needed and avoid any unwanted behaviors. Too much sarcasm, and you become a shitty driver, but just the right amount, and you can be a more effective manager.
